Campus Minister Application

UKirk Nashville is seeking a Campus Minister and Executive Director who will minister to college students, serve alongside an engaged and supportive board, and provide executive leadership for the organization.

Mission
UKirk Nashville is a Christian community that invites college students to belong, and grow in their faith.

UKirk Nashville values
  • Community. Relationships are at the heart of our ministry. College is fun, but it can also be stressful and isolating. Our goal is for students to come to UKirk as they are and find belonging. We want them to receive the blessing of simply “being with.” Furthermore, we aim to collaborate well with our broader community – other campus ministries, and the churches and individuals that support us. Relationships come first.
  • Inclusivity. UKirk is committed to welcoming everyone, with special regard for those who have been excluded or hurt by the church in the past, including women and our LGBTQ+ siblings. All are made in the image of God, all are extravagantly loved by Jesus, and all are uniquely gifted by the Spirit.
  • Faith Exploration. Students arrive with questions and doubts. Some are in the process of deconstructing—or reconstructing—their faith. UKirk offers a non-judgmental space for students to be curious, go on their own journeys, and claim faith for themselves (or not). Worship, discipleship, and service facilitate students’ exploration and growth.

UKirk Nashville Overview

UKirk Nashville is a vibrant faith community dedicated to serving college students in Nashville. Currently we serve students primarily at Belmont and Vanderbilt Universities. With a rich history spanning over eight decades, we are a non-profit ministry rooted in the local Presbyterian churches of Nashville (PCUSA and Cumberland Presbyterian).

Each week, UKirk gathers for dinner, fellowship, and worship at St. Augustine’s Chapel on Vanderbilt’s campus offering students a supportive and inclusive environment to explore and deepen their faith. Local Presbyterian churches provide the meal, followed by a worship service led by our Campus Minister and student leaders. Our worship experience is designed to be innovative, contemplative, and spiritually nourishing for young adults. Central to our gatherings is the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper, which we share regularly. In addition to our weekly gatherings, UKirk offers coffee hours, seasonal Bible studies, service opportunities and occasional retreats. These events are aimed at fostering spiritual growth and community among students.

Campus Minister/Executive Director Position
At UKirk Nashville, the Campus Minister also serves as our Executive Director, a position that combines pastoral leadership with administrative oversight. The Campus Minister is supported by an engaged and collaborative Board of Trustees, working together to plan strategically for the ministry’s programs and long-term vision. This role requires strong connections to both Vanderbilt and Belmont Universities, ensuring UKirk’s continued presence and relevance on campus.

Above all, our hope is that the next Campus Minister will have a heart for reaching students, expanding God’s welcome to all who desire a place to belong, and helping students to explore and grow in their faith.
